Padborg: (Danish - German border)

The combined E1 and VJ come in from the north. 

The combined E6 and the DP come in from the northeast. 

On leaving Padborg, the VJ lies to the west and goes through Handewitt, west of Flensburg.

The now combined E1 and E6 turn slightly east to go through Flensburg.

Sankelmark See: on the south bank of the lake, the VJ, the E1 and the E6 all come together.

Schleswig: 

Both the E6 and the VJ east branch continue southeast together to Kiel.

South of the city, the E1 branches west. 

VJ (west branch): continues to Rendsburg on the Kiel Canal.

Kiel 

Both the E6 and the VJ go into Lubeck with a small separation between the two.

The NOW goes from Kiel to the west to the North Sea.

Not sure yet what I want to do, but a first guess is:

Bus from Flensburg to Padborg

• From Padborg, the VJ to Handewitt (countryside) and bus to Flensburg
• From Flensburg, would like the Fordesteig  to Kappeln (Baltic Sea coastal), but time-constraints.
• So take the E1 / E6 / VJ to Schleswig. 
• From Schleswig, if I take the east branch of the VJ, I go to Kiel.
• Kiel
• Then from Kiel, follow the VJ to Lubeck.
• Else from Kiel, follow the E1 / E6 which is a longer route to Lubeck.
• From Schleswig if I take the west branch of the VJ, I go to Rendsburg.
• From Rendsburg I can follow the Kiel Canal west to the North Sea.
• Else from Rendsburg I can follow the VJ in the direction of Hamburg, but will run out of time.
