Jugendherberge Hamburg auf dem Stintfang

My roommate for both nights is from Chicago. He speaks only English and is here for pleasure - visiting friends.

The location appeared to be excellent. I'm in the port area. I'm also very near the St Pauli district and the  district.

It is lively here as many school groups are here also, but so far very quiet on the dorm room floor.

Ending the night sitting in the bar in the hostel having a beer.

In the mornings I'll have the breakfast here before starting the day. It's quite a time saver when I don't have to go out and find a place to eat. Of course, breakfast here means cold cuts and sliced cheese, yogurt and Nutella, coffee or hot chocolate or juice.

This event is rocking. It's like a county fair or a state fair. I'm not exactly sure how to describe the size of it, but it's pretty big.

So I've been walking around trying to work up the nerve to have my first fish sandwich here which is nothing like a fish sandwich in America.

Here the fish sandwiches are more like I don't know. I can't describe it but to my my considerably ruined tastes, they don't look appetizing. But I'm here to try. Maybe tomorrow night lol.

Got my white glüh wine and I'm sitting here in a little outdoor Cabana, just watching all the action.

The music is loud. The people are laughing. The rides are swinging. So I'm going to post some pictures after this verbage, I'm probably going to have a hard time weeding stuff out.

Merry Christmas

Me with my hot Glüh Wein

For my German practice

So that I can visualize the foods when I say their names.

So that I understand a little better the transportation system.

The first three cars go to the airport, the second three cars go to a different destination which splits off from the main line. Obviously important to know if you are going to the airport
