On the Road

3:15 a.m. Up and getting ready. 

4:00 a.m. On the S1 line to the airport. 

4:30 a.m. At Hamburg Airport. 

5:10 a.m. Packs checked and through security 

5:30 a.m. At the gate. Boarding begins in about an hour. But this is the way I like it, not having to rush through things.

Bought a coffee. It was €4.95. I could have got a beer for € 4.90. Alcohol is cheaper than water.

6:45 a.m. Boarding the flight to Madrid. 

Well for the first time ever I had somebody in my seat on the plane. But the flight attendant straightened it out, all is good. 

10:00 a.m. Arrive Madrid. At gate.

11:00 a.m. Changed from Terminal 4 to Terminal 4S. Thru the EU's immigration process. Through iberia's pre-screening at the gate. Now sitting down with  Cafe Con leche, not en vaso (disposable paper cups) and an almond croissant. 

12:15 p.m. Boarding for Boston.

My assigned window seat, since I didn't pay for it, was the row right behind the bulkhead between us and business class, so I ended up with lots more legroom than I expected. Plus no seat in front of me.

3:15 p.m. Land Boston. 

3:30 p.m. Through Immigration & Customs

4:20 p.m. At the gate for the flight to Rochester. Boarding begins in 15 minutes.

5:10 p.m. Take off for Rochester. 

6:50 p.m. Arrive Rochester

7:30 p.m. Back home safe and sound.
